Funding Assistance

We are committed to bringing theater learning opportunities to economically disadvantaged schools. In order to increase the number of students, teachers and classrooms we serve each year, we have developed a School Outreach Application for teachers.

The information provided by your application helps us to identify areas of need and pursue specific funding partnerships that will allow us to increase the number of free and reduced price tickets available each year.

All public schools in Oregon and Washington where at least 70% of students qualify for federal free/reduced lunch programs are eligible for outreach assistance.

Due to popular demand, funding assistance is now closed for Charlotte's Web and The Giver.

Full price tickets are still available; please contact our office for availability at 503.228.9571. Funding assistance is still open for Zombie in Love (all ages) and Fancy Nancy (PK-2).

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Kay Spielman at 503-228-9571 x101.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I determine my school’s free/reduced lunch percentage?

Oregon Schools
Washington Schools

Will every teacher requesting Outreach support get it?

We will work very hard to fill as many requests as possible. We have already begun soliciting community underwriters to provide funding. If we have to prioritize the applications we receive, here is the criteria we use in evaluating requests:

  • Performance Attendance history
  • Percentage of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch programs
  • Explanation of your classroom-to-field-trip connection

What ways does OCT suggest connecting the field trip experience to in-class learning?

Our Resource Guides, developed and written for classroom teachers, provide benchmark-linked, grade-level specific activities to accompany each show.

If you have questions on the application process, please email teachers@octc.org or call 503-228-9571.
